E-K-M up to sixth in 'B' poll

Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier girls basketball jumped from ninth to sixth in the latest Class B girls basketball poll Monday.

The Rebels (5-0) defeated Medina-Pingree-Buchanan (4-1) in the championship game of the Stutsman County tournament Saturday in Jamestown. M-P-B remains in the No. 8 position.

LaMoure-Litchville-Marion (4-0) enters the poll at No. 7. The Loboes won a third straight Barnes County tournament Saturday in Valley City. Carrington (3-1) dropped from fifth to ninth in the poll.

Stanley (1-0) is ranked No. 1 in the first Class B boys basketball poll released Monday.

Carrington received 62 points and is fifth.

Winter/spring women's volleyball league

The Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department is offering a women's winter/spring volleyball league.

The league starts Jan. 8. Rosters and registration fees must be turned into the parks and rec. office or mail slot by 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 2.

The team fee is $225. A $50 late fee will be added if rosters and full payment are not turned in by the deadline.
