JHS golf places sixth

Five performances in the 80s paced Jamestown High School boys golf to a sixth-place finish Tuesday during the Mandan Invite at Prairie West Golf Course.

Jeremy Williams' 84 led the Blue Jays, while Connor Mullowney (86), Jared Kallenbach (86), Mason Walters (89) and Jed Truax (89) also had strong showings.

"Today was a team effort to get to sixth place," said Jamestown boys golf coach John Samuelson. "I was really happy with our efforts as we dealt with on-and-off rain and wind most of the day. It's tough to pick one player's round out today."

Cole Bennion also shot a 95 for the Blue Jays. Jamestown travels to the Dickinson Invite at Heart River Golf Course on Thursday.

"To make that we need to be consistent as a team in every meet," Samuelson said. "As a team we're getting there. Individually that consistency has not found it's way to us yet."
